Resist the temptation to discount what seem like insignificant concerns offered by parents.
No matter how inconsequential the concerns may seem to you, you risk sending a message of not caring or not paying attention.
Remember, most parents do not take the risk of approaching someone in authority, including teachers, unless they feel strongly about their concern.
Making a joke, refusing to listen, or communicating disinterest may create more hurt and disappointment than you realize—and can spell trouble in the future.
